Hong Kong Express - This

I figured I’d take a moment to needlessly commemorate my first “full” Discogs submission, giving away my Discogs username in the process: This by Hong Kong Express

It was a bit of a chore taking the time to snap photos of all of the artwork and the tape itself, but it was about time that I made another attempt to grasp the submission process beginning-to-end; I’ve made numerous submissions to Discogs in the past, but I’ve never created a release entry in its entirety, complete with linking the release to its “Master Release” and attaching photos that I took myself. Okay, okay, maybe I created the draft from the other tape entry… but it’s still darn close to my first “full” submission!

My fiance’s grandfather passed somewhat recently, and her father has quite the camera collection already and decided to give her grandfather’s DSLR with a couple lenses to her. I know absolutely nothing about photography, which has become immediately apparent to me since picking this camera up and taking random photos around the house. I intend to share a few photos here and there on corbin.zip

I’m certain that these photos won’t look as good as I would like them to on here, so I hope that this blog entry serves as a reminder to me to put an effort into creating some type of an interesting solution. I’ve also decided not to show too much from my vapor collection quite yet, as I’d prefer to put together a bit of a larger showcase. You’ll find a small tease below, however

Outside of snapping a few photos and submitting this Discogs entry, what else did I do today?

Anyhow, it’s closing in on 5PM, which means it’s near near beer o’clock! Get it? ‘Cuz it’s almost time for me to drink a near beer, so it’s near near beer… Anyways, here are a few random photos I’ve snapped!

Lucy will be 1 year old soon! And yes, Lucy is obviously a boy’s name

Here’s some Macroblank playing on my Technics table; can you guess the exact model from this photo alone?

While we’re on the subject of vinyl, here’s copy number 4,286 out of the 13,500 copies of the 5-year anniversary pressing of 3001: A Laced Odyssey. I think I would like to revisit this record a few more times and write a bit about it. It isn’t a perfect hip-hop release, but it sets a high bar for being a pseudo studio album

N64, you say? How about a random photo of Perfect Dark playing on my Trinitron, next to my old Lepai amp, with a 식료품groceries tote on top?

And finally, taken on a different day and closer to the current mess that is currently my media mountain, a small teaser of my tape collection:

Whoops, I almost forgot this random “arsty” (lol) photo of some ‘boocha, handcrafted to steal money out of my wallet. Can you believe that this 12oz can was $5? I thought that paying $3-$4 for the larger glass bottles was absurd, yet there I was handing my card over to pay $5 for this. Can’t say I’ll be drinking another one of these anytime soon…

Well, that’s all I got for ya’ today. Thanks for stopping by. This site has gone through many changes since it came online just days ago, and I’d like to write some type of script to generate a sort-of gallery for these types of posts that contain many photos. It’s not exactly in my wheelhouse, but I’ll be making an attempt sometime soon
